I’ve got a few lines to drop about the state of the social conscience
And the way it’s wrought us and got us all feeling obnoxious,
It’s toxic, a noxious gas stemming from your PC, you’re ipad,
Your tv your smart phone in the palm of your hand.
It’s part of the plan I’m sure but here it goes anyway
Ill say what I’ve got to say and then be on my way,
The dawning of a new day is not around the corner,
I consider myself society’s forensic coroner.

First of let me start mundane the games we play
In supermarkets day to day trying to live in a healthy way
While we pay for meat that’s made up with water weight,
Soybean paste and additives to keep it from going grey,
Carcinogenic sweeteners in diet drinks because you’re athletic
Or a gatorade with corn syrup to keep you diabetic,
People make a lot of money off of people needing a medic
So why would anyone bother to try and promote a healthy aesthetic?

Healthy aesthetic? What does that even mean?
Is it six packs and tight jeans, accompanied by skin clean?
Is it flat tummy’s and narrow waists, small boobs
To accompany tiny meals on massive dinner plates?
Is it voluptuous curves like the birds of the 1950’s?
Is it Marilyn Monroe hips and corvettes and v neck tees?
Is an aesthetic ever healthy, can appearance indicate worth?
Does the worth of someone’s work really be determined by their girth?

And speaking of girth what about women giving birth,
And the pressure they face in the race of making it back to pre-baby weight?
If I carried a living being inside me for nine months or maybe eight
Then provided care and let the child flourish through out the ages
I wouldn’t be too concerned about getting back my sex appeal,
Celeb celebrations of the body image fixation, who gives a fuck
About the small child that’s just been born into this sick nation?
In disgust I turn my head from MTV screen and turn the station

Only to realise that every stations the same,
everyone’s got someone to blame
Whether it’s body shame, slut shame or race shame,
It’s ultimately irrelevant as long as it all stems from hate.
Who really cares if a man or woman likes to sleep around?
It’s their body if they want to enjoy sex then pipe down.
And if you want to treat your virginity like a sacred gift,
Your chastity a god-given seal of purity in the sin’s mist,
That’s fine too, I’m happy for you all,
But can’t we all respect the decisions we make and who we booty call?

And for the race haters, the big players,
Moguls controlling mainstream media feeding ya with infectious statements
Slowly infiltrating the way the public thinks, it’s grip on our minds is too thick
So pervasive racism still affects us all day, atomise and divide,
It’s the conquering way.

But I want to delve deeper:
The first verses hollow words lacking the adjectives and verbs
That really communicate just how irate I am about the way
The world is coming into play, if I could dissipate into thin air,
Run from the problems and leave the world without a care,
I fucking wouldn’t, I would stay and fight,
I would stay and be a believer and try to set things right.

See the real problem in this modern day society,
Is not the superficial things I’ve dictated to you piously,
The real problem is the system that we live, you guessed it,
The real problem is that greedy beast capitalism.
It’s this very system that has landed the world trillion dollars in debt
It’s created wealth that does not exist so now we need to end the fed?
Free the market so that businesses can rule in place of central government?
Dictatorship by decision is still preferable to dictatorship by stock market.

But it’s more than monetary, it’s in the whole philosophy
It’s rudimentary principles are so ingrained in the dichotomy
of society, people are power and power is nothing but money,
So it’s not surprising that humanity is seen as a commodity
It’s clear to see even in my own words the hypocrisy
That strikes the heart of all and every wanna be Hippocrates
Look to your relations and consider how you view them
Not as entities to be maintained but entities to buy and trade.

If I’m nice enough to the this girl she might let me in her pants,
If I’m nice enough to this man he might put diamonds on my hands,
If I’m nice enough to these parents they might accept who I am,
If I’m nice enough to this child they might forgive my failed plans.
We’re forever exchanging gifts and gestures in the hope of just return,
Romance is dead, overturned in favour of supply demand
It’s crooked economics between human hands that will eventually bane the land.

But for me it all comes down to the following thoughts:
If you want to make your mark then don’t take the path before
Trodden a million times by leaden minds, whores
Being bought by the consumeristic socially twisted scorn,
Carve you’re own road, trampling obstacles like elephants
There’s evidence of revolution apparent on every step of government,
The herd is orientated and had enough of being dominated.
